Tribute to Cat Stevens – Peace train to a Wild World!
“Peace Train To A Wild World” is a nostalgic, memorable tribute to Nobel Peace prizewinner, Cat Stevens, who has not only been hailed as one of the most important figures in the folk-rock genre, but is best known as popular British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
“Peace Train To A Wild World” not only highlights Cat Stevens’ haunting melodies and soulful lyrics, but also gives one a glimpse into the life of one of the world’s greatest folk-rock artists, from birth to current status as converted Muslim and humanitarian. The tribute features Werner Carstens, on lead guitar, mandolin, and backing vocals. Craig Stott, whose rendition of Cat Stevens’ songs has earned him standing ovations, is featured on acoustic guitar and lead vocals. Charl Strutt and Gavin Young feature on bass and drums respectively. Although the band is based in Wellington and has performed this show for 8 years already, this will be the first time ever that it will be performed in its “full band” version in front of their home crowd in Wellington!
